If you know anything about rapper Macklemore, then you’d be aware of his love for everything hip-hop, but there’s something else that he’s obsessed about: Cold-Brew Coffee, Please

That’s right, and not just any cup of cold-brew will do. Macklemore has always been an unofficial ambassador for Oregon-based Dutch Bros. (pronounced “brose”) Coffee. He’s a major fan right down to the last drop, and it’s paying off.

Talk About The Perfect Blend

Dutch Bros. has recently signed the Grammy award-winning rapper to a totally cool gig as the company’s new Executive Creative Director of its cold-brew division. The Seattle, Washington-born rapper, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, is excited about the temporary beverage side-job. He will also be performing at a Dutch Bros. Coffee company event called COACHA, making it an amazing fusion of coffee and entertainment. COACHA is an annual summer retreat and training session for more than 2,000 Dutch Bros. employees. It covers topics like the company’s history, the roasting technique, and future goals. COACH also celebrates its employees with music and laughter, and Macklemore is a huge draw. In 2019, the rapper joined with the company for a campaign to fight ALS.

Caffeine With A Special Kick

During his beverage gig, the rapper, 36, will have the opportunity to discover new Dutch Bros. flavors and help the team develop new cold-brew products to launch in 2020. It’s not hard to see how obsessed you can become sipping from a can of Dutch Bros. Cold-Brew. Travis Boersma, President and Co-Founder of Dutch Bros. Coffee, calls it “the best cold brew on the planet.” The coffee is bottled in 11.5-oz. nitrogen-infused cans enabling customers to purchase this ready-to-drink product and enjoy it on the go or wherever their travels take them. Straight from the can or over ice, with milk or flavorings, Macklemore likes indulging in the brand’s cold-brew with its rich, creamy quality. He’s been loyally drinking Dutch Bros. for years now, and the coffee has also appeared in a couple of his music videos.

Bringing Communities Together

Macklemore believes in giving back to others, and the same goes for the generous coffee company. For example, back in October, the rapper performed a free concert at the Bi-Mart Amphitheater in Central Point in southern Oregon. Dutch Bros. is always performing acts of kindness. An example of this would be the company’s Dutch Luv Event that raised $351,561.00 for local food pantries in the area in Feb. 2019. In 2018, the coffee company donated more than $400,000 to victims of the California Wildfires. Dutch Bros. began collecting donations from customers and promised to match up to $150,000 in donations.

It’s A West Coast Thing

Dutch Bros. launched in 1992 as a pushcart in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. Today, the company is the largest privately held drive-through coffee chain in the United States. The franchises have not made their way across to the East Coast yet but can be found at locations in the following states, including Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. For most coffee shops, the focus is on the coffee and folks relaxing in the shop, but for Dutch Bros., it’s a different experience. As Harvard Business School Professor Joshua Margolis has said, “Dutch Bros.’ culture revolves around the connections they make with their people.” Macklemore and many others enjoy drinking up to that philosophy.
