The Seahawks Rekindle Old AFC West Rivalry in London vs Raiders

The newly constructed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London will be the site of an old AFC West rivalry when the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders meet up on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. PST.  Hospitality tickets will go on sale on July 17 at 10 a.m. London time per Seattle Public Relations, a Seattle PR firm. The game is the Seahawks’ first international game ever, and it’s only fitting that it be played in the first UK stadium specifically constructed to host NFL games. There will also be a 48-hour priority sales window for Wembley season ticket holders between September 4 and September 6. The remaining tickets will be on sale later in September.

Bags that do not follow regulations will not be allowed in. Items and bags will also be fully investigated before stadium entry is allowed.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The Seahawks vs. Raiders game is the only NFL game to be played in the new stadium in 2018. The new stadium has less capacity than Wembley, but the NFL UK hopes to learn more about the stadium environment and fan experience with this test game. The following year will see an extra game played at the new stadium over the agreed two game minimum.

Seahawks vs. Raiders Rivalry

The Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders previously played in the same division of the AFC West from the 1977 season until 2002 when they moved back to the NFC West. AFC West teams were well-known for heated rivalries, and the Seahawks and Raiders were no exception. The teams often play in preseason games, but regular season meetups are limited. In 2017, the Raiders finished 6-10 to be third in the AFC West. They did not make the playoffs. The Seahawks finished 9-7 in the NFC West to be second in that division, but they also did not make the playoffs.
